Update: Arizona Files Separate Lawsuit Challenging DHS’ 100-Day Deportation Moratorium
On February 3, 2021, the State of Arizona filed a separate lawsuit challenging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s 100-Day pause on deportations. Like Texas, Arizona claims the policy violates an agreement the state signed with DHS in the final months of the Trump Administration. Also like the Texas agreement, the Arizona agreement was signed by Acting DHS Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli.
